Bliss Bridal Alterations

You have said YES to the dress, now it is time to achieve the perfect fit! The alteration department works exclusively with Bliss customers to ensure your gown is perfection for the big day. With over 40 years of experience, the Bliss seamstresses have tailor made the alterations process to be both easy and comfortable every step of the way. We want you to feel completely at ease, so here is a quick guide on what to expect during the fitting process.

What To Expect During Your Fitting

Your appointment will begin with updated measurements followed by putting your gown, shoes, and undergarments on. The seamstress will then pin everything the gown requires in order to achieve the desired fit. This appointment is the perfect time to discuss any questions or concerns you have with the seamstress, as she will be able to provide insight on how she is going to approach the work required. Once the pinning is complete, you will then meet with the alterations manager to review the work that will be done to your gown. If everything is to your satisfaction, payment is processed and the alterations will begin.

The first fitting for our brides will be 30 minutes, the first fitting for our bridesmaids and grads will be 15 minutes. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can get you into your gown and be ready for the seamstress at your scheduled time.

If the check list items are not brought to your appointment there will be a $45 fee to reschedule. These items are essential for the seamstresses to determine the work required for your gown.

Your appointment will begin with putting your gown, shoes, and undergarments on. All of the work discussed at the first alteration appointment will be complete for you to see the progress made. If there are any minor tweaks the seamstress feels are necessary, she will pin the specific spots to complete for a follow up appointment if required.

The second fitting will be 15 minutes long. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can get you into your gown and be ready for the seamstress at your scheduled time.

Brides: The lace and beaded appliqués will be quick stitched for your second appointment. This is to ensure the major work such as the hem and construction of the bodice is the perfect fit before hand-sewing the appliqués back on the gown.

Brides: Your gown will be ready for pick up 14 days after your last alteration appointment. If you would like to have the gown steamed before pick up, you can schedule a gown steam with the alterations manager at the conclusion of your final fitting.

Ladies who are having a bridesmaid gown or grad dress altered; your gown will be ready for pick up at your final fitting.

If you are from out of town and wish to have the gown shipped to you once the alterations are complete, feel free to call the boutique and speak with the alterations manager to process payment for shipping.
